Newsletter Spring 2002 From the Orange tree comes three different essential oils. First, from the rind of the fruit comes Orange oil, With a biight and cheerful aroma it is a very good oil in a burner, particularly when mixed with a spice oil such as Clove or Cinnamon. From the flower comes Neroli oil. With a gentle and mysterious aroma this oil can be worn as a perfume or used in massage blends, helping to reduce anxiety and lift the spirits. From the leaf comes Petitgrain oil with an aroma similar to Neroli but with a green leafy character. It makes a pleasant oil in a burner, particularly if blended with other essential oils such as Orange, Bergamot or YlangYlang. |

Rosehip Seed Oil (rose mosquetta) We now offer oil pressed from the seed of a South American Rose, rosa rubiginosa (known also as rose muscat). This oil has a reputation as being good for healing scars. Research from the UK suggests that for best results the scar should be less than a year old. The oil can be applied neat or, for economy of use, diluted 25% in other carrier oils such as Sweet Almond, 5% essential oil can be added. Essential oils with noted skin regenerative properties include Lavender, Heichrysum (Immortelle), and Neroli. |
